Current Practices and Research in Sound – 2021
The USITT Sound Commission is seeking new and innovative work and solicits contributions that may be technical or artistic in nature. The Sound Commission has worked to develop this platform to encourage sharing of creative practices and research-oriented content, and provide an avenue for new voices in the field.
All submissions will be peer reviewed, and those accepted will be published electronically. A select number of submissions will be chosen and their authors invited to present in the Current Practices and Research in Sound session at the 2021 USITT Conference which will be held virtually this year.
Many educational institutions recognize peer-reviewed papers/articles that are presented and/or published at the national level as impactful and valuable scholarly work.
The deadline for submitting abstract (60-120 words) and précis (500-750 words) has been extended to December 15, 2020. Applicants will be notified about provisional acceptances by January 5, 2021. Full papers/articles must then be submitted by February 7, 2021, after which time they will be reviewed by a jury of peers. Applicants will be notified about acceptances of full papers by February 21, 2021.
Typed abstracts should be 60-120 words and should provide a brief but concise summary of the topic of research. The précis should be 500-750 words, and should provide additional detail and supporting information. Website links, audio and video links, another other supporting material may be included.
